Happy 60th Birthday Monica

It is not everyday that you turn 60 and we would like to take the opportunity of wishing Monica a very happy birthday and wish her many many more!

She came on holiday with her husband, brothers and sisters and was surprised to find one of her daughters Jenny and her father had made a surprise trip to be with her too.

Nang Sabai (The German Bakery) made a beautiful chocolate cake and Time for Lime opened especially for her, so they could have a cookery class on her birthday. Our housekeeper and cleaners made the room look extra special for her.

And Jessica, her other daughter, was upset she could not make it, so she emailed me direct to ensure her mum had some lovely flowers from her and her family.

Congratulations Monica, hope you have a fabulous day,

The Mook Lanta Team

Congratulations Maria and Andy

Yesterday we had our second wedding at Mook Lanta Eco Resort. Maria and Andy tied the knot on the beach yesterday afternoon.

Maria (Russian) and Andy (Bolivian) met and live in China and are a beautiful couple and we were delighted to share their special day. They joined us, our friends and our guests at the bar later that night.

Our housekeeper took great delight in decorating their bedroom for their first night as a married couple. They even delivered breakfast in bed!

Children's Day

Yesterday, 14th January 2017, is Children's Day here in Thailand. Every year there is a gathering at Casuarina Park, where there is games and entertainment and gifts for all the kids (Thai or Western).

Just like every year, we have a stand there and myself (Mellisa), Gin, Sao, Kai and Ya. Were handing out balloons, doughnuts and papers, pens and crayons. We arrived at 9am and the whole lot was gone in 30 minutes!

Storm across the South of Thailand

There has been a huge storm across the South of Thailand and yesterday Koh Lanta experienced very heavily rains and wind. There was some damage across the island, but we were lucky.

Today the sun is shining and there is no wind, we thoroughly expect this will continue.

Our island is back to normal but many road and tracks have been damaged, meaning transportation by train or bus may be difficult and you may need to make alternative arrangements.

If you are at all concerned or have questions, please contact us at info@mooklanta.com
